This was the first painting I did of water without the sky. I was very inspired by some Alex Janvier's work on canvas at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Hull, Quebec. His innovation and free flowing lines affected me and expanded my understanding of where art could go. I painted this peice while the inspiration of his art was still fresh within me and I wanted to thank him for leading the way.
