Tony Belcourt - Métis Leader/Activist.  Mr. Belcourt’s 40 year career as a Metis leader has led to many significant gains for Metis people.  In 1971 he became a national leader when he was elected as the founding president of the Native Council of Canada and has continued to fight for the rights of Metis people since.  Today he is involved in building nation-to-nation bridges between the Metis Nation and First Nations in Ontario as well as other indigenous nations in central and south America.
