Jean Teillet -Métis Lawyer/Visual Artist & past professional dancer. Ms. Teillet is the great-grand neice of Louis Riel. She entered a career in law at the age of 40 and has gone on to win the first Supreme Court of Canada landmark Powley case recognizing the rights of Metis people. In her downtime, she is an artist in her own right, producing intricate and unusual mixed media pieces in beadwork. Ms. Teillet was raised in the historic Metis community of St. Vital, Manitoba.
