Done on a black background to emulate traditional Metis beadwork done on black tradecloth, the panel features styles/patterns and colours found in historic beadwork which is commonly referred to as the “subarctic” style.  I wanted to capture not only the aesthetic view of this style of beadwork, but also to capture the Metis spirit of dance and celebration.
